You should only take this drug as directed to by your medical care practitioner. Most often it will be prescribed to be taken twice per day, in the morning and at night. Take each dose with a full glass of water. If you miss a dose take it at the first chance that you get. If you realize you missed a dose near to when your next dose is scheduled, skip the missed dose and keep taking your doses as scheduled. If you overdose seek medical treatment right away.
It is important that your doctor knows about ALL of the drugs that you are currently taking in order to avoid any interactions. Women who are pregnant or who are nursing should make sure that their doctor is informed of this prior to using this drug. Refrain from using anti-acids such as, Rolaids, Maalox, Mylanta, Milk of Magnesia, or Pepcid Complete close to when you take Allegra—these can decrease the effectiveness of the drug.
